1:20 Piper-Heidsieck E B F Fillies´ Handicap

Roger Sez is on a good mark still with conditions also ideal for here, making her an attractive price
A good race to start with and though the ground is hard to work out, the promise of rain should see it on the soft side come race time. Perfect Step looks the obvious blot on the handicapper off 88 taking into consideration she beat all but today’s smart conditions winner Sovereign Debt. Before that she beat Riot Of Colour by half a length (both running first race back) after the latter seemed to travel possibly better. She has been put down 3lb even for her maiden win and that seems a little lenient. She doesn’t look the easiest of rides but is a capable filly and may relish the bigger field. Cardigan must have been showing something to have been put in such high grade on her reappearance and she should be better for it, albeit she was beaten a mile. Tartiflette has run well over 7f on soft and has been unlucky to run into three nice types but may run into another one in a good race. Savanna Days should take to conditions and Wahylah looks hard to place but if conditions turned really testing then one who will be running on really well is ROGER SEZ. This filly always seems overpriced and seems to relish soft ground. She took a bit of time to get going this season but put up her best performance last time when giving weight all round at listed level and running on really well. The extra pace here should suit and with ground a big plus and a very workable mark, her price seems extremely fair. Illaunglass would be interesting if money come for her but she’s been off for nearly a year and could just need this. Hello Glory is of interest if taking to the ground while responsive needs blinkers to have a big effect.

1:50 Betfred “The Bonus King” Stakes
An interesting race where quite a few types step down in trip. Sholaan was a really good winner on terrible ground at York but the form of that race is really hard to work out and he failed off 12lb on better ground last time. He seems to need 7f and unless significant rain came, I wouldn’t be interested in backing him. Mince ran okay last time at Listed Level but it remains to be seen whether she is well handicapped or not. My suspicion is she has done her winning now. Piri Wango steps down 2f after a good run in the Britannia and more should be to come and even though he won his maiden over 6f, it seems a slightly strange decision. Soft ground is also an unknown. Although the Jersey finished in a bunch, it was a good race and Rebellious Guest may run well here down to 6f again but with the ground it may not be run like a 6f race. But even though the yard aren’t in great form, VAN ELLIS is worth chancing. I always thought a step down to 6f would suit him and even though he won last time, it was also his first time that he didn’t make the running. The yard may just be getting to know this horse and even off top weight and 6lb, he should run a really good race. Chunky Diamond is dropping onto a good mark but ground will not suit. Balty Boys has been dropped 6lb since his last run which gives him hope though conditions also may not be ideal. Glen Moss may have a better chance of the Hills duo.

Sendmylovetorose was a good winner last time back in Ireland after an unfortunate incident at Royal Ascot and conditions looks ideal for her to land a hat trick. Agent Allison is a non-runner due to ground and it really will be testing out there tomorrow with a lot of rain over night. Richard Hannon has two in this in City Image and Maureen with the former probably being first choice of jockey and certainly on form. She beat Sandreamer nicely here over C&D and also showed she handled soft with a good win on debut. There’s nothing to suggest Sandreamer can overturn that form, even with ground being markedly different. Premier Steps stepped up massively on her maiden form when chasing home Newfangled in the Albany and a repeat show should see her go close with the ground also fine. Jadanna ran really well when 2nd on her side in the Queen Mary and though 6f should be fine, in these conditions it may not. The testing conditions means LOVELY PASS, who shows already she stays well, may be worth a bit. Godolphin have hit a bit of form lately and this one ran a great race when third in a decent Chesham. She will want further than this but should be staying on better than most and is slightly overpriced. Mandy Layla has a good bit to prove on form and in the ground. FANTACISE is interesting as I rate this filly and she could easily ruin a very inviting nursery mark. She was a good winner on soft in first time headgear last time and may not actually be too far away in this good grade.
